Galaxy Dress

For this project, I wanted to focus on an aspect of character design that I've taken a genuine interest in as of late: costume design. Costume design is something I have relatively little experience with but something I feel I should know as a concept artist. When creating my outfit, I focused on creating detailed fabric folds, convincing textures, and accurate anatomy. I stuck with a simple yet expansive color palette in order to prevent myself from going overboard with color.

The thematic concept for this project was the night sky as a princess dress. I just find these types of dresses so beautiful with all the intricate folds and layers, and combining this with a galaxy theme sounded like a beautiful marriage.
